Alex and I had the opportunity to shoot Alexa and Dan's engagement session while we were on our anniversary trip this past weekend and we had so much fun! Alexa and Dan are so sweet and their love for the Lord and for one another is so evident. They showed us around the cute streets of Georgetown and then took us to Georgetown University's AMAZING campus. Growing up in Annapolis, I frequently visited DC and Georgetown has always been my favorite part of the city! Georgetown is also special to Alexa and Dan because it is where they went on some of their first dates. In fact, the bench they're sitting on at the end of their session is the bench where they sat together on their very first date. I am so excited to shoot their wedding in downtown DC in November!
Downtown Charleston, SC Anniversary Session | Sammi & Joey | A Charleston, SC Photographer
Alex and I and Sammi and Joey went to Charleston a few weeks ago to shoot Lauren and Sudeep's beautiful wedding. Lauren is a close personal friend of mine and Sammi's and so we were invited to the rehearsal dinner in downtown Charleston. I absolutely love Charleston and so the idea came to me to do an anniversary session swap with Sammi and Joey! Alex and I and Sammi and Joey got married within a month of each other last August/September and so we both have our one year anniversaries coming up (which is hard to believe!). We spent about an hour and walked around the streets of Charleston and traded off taking pictures of one another. It was extremely hot and Joey and Alex were super patient as Sammi and I stopped them on pretty much every corner to take pictures. :) Despite the heat, I had a blast and I'm so happy with the pictures I got of Sammi and Joey!
Sammi and Joey- y'all are such a blessing to us! We're so thankful for you and for your Christ-centered marriage! I hope you enjoy these pictures.
Lauren & Sudeep's Engagement Session in Downtown Charleston | A Charleston, SC Photographer
I am so excited to share this session with you! Mainly for two reasons: first, I absolutely LOVE this couple and second, I LOVE that we got to take their pictures downtown Charleston! I met Lauren at Clemson several years ago and we built a very sweet friendship. Lauren and I had the chance to spend a summer in India together and I feel like I've experienced so many adventures with her! Lauren also became my running accountability partner and she helped me train for and run my first half marathon! Through running together most mornings of the week, we were able to talk regularly and really live life together. I loved it and I missed her greatly when she moved from Clemson to Charleston to start attending MUSC.
I really enjoyed hearing about Sudeep when Lauren first met him (and how she was totally not interested in him...right... haha!). Slowly over time as Lauren and Sudeep began talking and dating, I was more and more impressed with him based on the things Lauren told me and the way that he pursued her. It was a blessing for me to hear about and watch their relationship from a distance. Lauren is an incredibly loyal, kind, deep, and caring person who's friendship I treasure greatly and so I was extremely happy to see her fall in love with a wonderful, godly man!
Lauren, Sudeep, and I met downtown Charleston bright and early at 6:45am on a very warm Friday morning. In spite of the warmth and the earliness of their session, we had a wonderful time and I absolutely loved getting to capture Lauren and Sudeep just days before they got married! I just adore Charleston as well. I think I literally stopped Sudeep and Lauren about every minute because I loved every street we turned down! Charleston really is a city where each street is more beautiful than the next. Shooting downtown was a dream and something that's been on my bucket list for a while. If anyone has any more Charleston sessions or weddings they need a photographer for, I'm your girl!! :) I hope that you enjoy these pictures and that they wet your appetite for their beautiful Charleston wedding pictures that will be coming soon!
Lauren and Sudeep, if you're reading this I hope you are having an absolutely wonderful time on your honeymoon! I'm praying this week would be the start to a Christ-exalting marriage.
Marie & Ben's Engagement Session at Eno State Park | A Durham, NC Photographer
I met with Marie and Ben at Eno State park in Durham for their engagement session and I had a wonderful time! Marie and Ben spent a lot of time at Eno park while they were dating and so they showed me around and took me to some of their favorite spots. Since moving to NC, I have really enjoyed getting to do photo shoots at so many new places! I loved Eno park and I especially loved the beautiful drawbridge. I definitely plan to come back here for more shoots in the future!
I loved watching Marie and Ben interact with one another during their session! They were completely natural in front of the camera and their chemistry and love for one another was very obvious. Marie and Ben told me a little history about her engagement ring. The diamond in Marie's ring was Ben's grandma's and has been in Ben's family for many years.
Marie and Ben, I had a blast and I can't wait until your wedding in September!
Catherine & Bryan's Engagement & Family Session in Downtown Raleigh | A Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer
Catherine and Bryan asked me to do an engagement/family session with Bryan's beautiful daughter Kennedy. They wanted to do their session downtown Raleigh because Catherine lived downtown for a while and Raleigh is a very meaningful city for them. I haven't had the chance to explore downtown Raleigh much yet since Alex and I moved and so I was really excited for this session! Catherine really wanted an "urban" feel for her pictures and she picked some excellent spots. I had SO much fun with Catherine, Bryan, and Kennedy. They showed me around their city and we talked and laughed and took pictures along the way! We started out at the capitol and then walked to a very fun and bright mural. After that we stopped at some railroad tracks and we even ran into a horse and carriage (what are the chances?!)!!! We spent a few minutes at CAM (Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh) and then ended our evening on the beautiful Boylan Bridge overlooking the Raleigh skyline.
Catherine and Bryan are getting married at 214 Martin in downtown Raleigh in September and I could not be MORE excited for their wedding! Thank you for a wonderful and fun session guys!
