I have been wanting to shoot at the American Tobacco Campus ever since Alex and I moved to NC! So I was ecstatic when Christy told me that her and Marcus wanted to take pictures there! I actually took engagement pictures from them a few months ago and they loved them but wanted to get more in cooler weather with different outfits and in a different location. I told them that I'm always up for an extra portrait session...I love engagement pictures! We ended up with a beautiful sunny day and I had so much fun walking around Durham with Christy and Marcus. They even went along with my idea to go to the top of a parking garage at sunset and I LOVE the Durham skyline pictures we ended up with! I can't wait for their wedding in a few weeks at the Cotton Room!
Haw River Ballroom | Ginny & George's Engagement Pictures | A Saxapahaw, NC Wedding Photographer
I was so excited when Ginny emailed me telling me that she wanted to do her pictures in Saxapahaw and that she wanted to take some inside the Haw River ballroom and some outside by the Haw River. Saxapahaw is one of my favorite places and the world and Alex and I have spent a lot of time there! Ginny told me that she lived there for a few months (I'm pretty jealous about that!) and that her and George have spent a lot of time there. I was so happy that she wanted to take some pictures in Cup 22 (the coffee shop inside the Haw River Ballroom) because I LOVE the huge open windows and the vintage furniture in Cup 22 and I've been wanting to do a "coffee inspired" engagement session forever! So we started out in Cup 22 and I was immediately super impressed with Ginny's amazing style and how sweet George and Ginny are together! After taking pictures in Cup 22 we headed out to the woods and explored and climbed on rocks and Ginny and George were even brave enough to climb on top of a dam (I love when couples are adventurous!). Then we ended our session at the bench where Ginny used to spend hours talking to George on the phone when they were dating. So sweet! I'm thankful Ginny and George picked me as their wedding photographer and I can't wait for their wedding in June!!
Historic Oak View | Kevin & Kimberly's Engagement Pictures | A Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer
I had so much fun during Kevin and Kimberly's engagement session and I can't wait for their wedding in July! I met Kevin and Kimberly a few months ago through Gretchen with Red Bird Events who was kind enough to refer them to me. Kevin and Kimberly have been dating for five years (in fact, their dating anniversary was the day we took these pictures!). I was so excited that Kevin and Kimberly wanted to do their session at Historic Oak View and I had so much fun exploring the beautiful grounds! It is definitely one of my new favorite places to take pictures! Kimberly is studying to be a veterinarian at NC State and her and Kevin are animal loves and so they also wanted to get some pictures with their beautiful dog! She was a good sport and she even smiled for one of the pictures (or at least I think it looks like she's smiling...see if you can find the picture below!). Here's a few of my favorite pictures from their session:
JC Raulston Arboretum | Christy & Marcus' Engagement Pictures | A Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer
I really enjoyed Christy and Marcus' engagement session at the JC Raulston Arboretum. I haven't taken pictures there yet and so it was fun to explore and I definitely hope to go back for more sessions in the future! Christy and Marcus are such a sweet and fun couple and their love for one another is so evident! I can't wait for their wedding at The Cotton Room in December!!
Duke Gardens | Rachel & Hardee's Engagement Pictures | A Durham, NC Wedding Photographer
I really enjoyed meeting Rachel and Hardee and taking their engagement pictures in the amazing beautiful Duke Gardens! Rachel and Hardee are actually getting married tomorrow (!!!) and so we did their pictures on Tuesday just a few days before their wedding. Hardee is a martial arts instructor in Chapel Hill and Rachel works at the martial arts studio as well. So they have a love for asian culture and they wanted to do their pictures in the asiatic section of the Duke gardens. Here's a few of my favorite pictures from their session:
