Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern | Ashley & Nathan's Vow Reaffirmation | A Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer

Ashley and Nathan have a beautiful story! After they got engaged, Ashley was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. Instead of planning a large wedding, they decided to get married quickly and have a small ceremony. Over the next year and a half of their marriage, Ashley went through radiation, chemotherapy, and a liver transplant. Thankfully, Ashley successfully made it through her treatment and transplant! So, Ashley and Nathan decided to plan a larger vow reaffirmation and they re-committed themselves to one another on 6/4/16.

During their ceremony, the pastor said that their marriage is a picture of Christ's steadfast love towards us. I thought that was a beautiful way to explain how they have steadfastly loved one another through the trials they've faced just as Christ loves his children steadfastly and continually. I was so blessed to hear a small part of their story and to see them have the opportunity to reaffirm their vows and celebrate their marriage after a period of intense hardship. I was honor to photograph!

Haw River Ballroom | Ilene & Ryan's Wedding | A Saxapahaw, NC Wedding Photographer

Ilene and Ryan had the sweetest intimate wedding at the Haw River ballroom! They were unusual clients for me because I actually only covered one hour of their wedding (family pictures and romantic portraits). Typically, I don't usually offer that kind of coverage (my packages start at 7 hours) but for their situation, one hour ended up working out for various reasons.

Even though I had such a short time to spend with Ilene and Ryan, I had SO much fun! It was very clear that Ilene and Ryan really loved one another and that they were so happy and excited to get married. They also knew how to have fun (see the evidence in some of their photos below!).

Ryan and Ilene told me how blessed they felt to be able to get married at the Haw River ballroom. It's one of their favorite places (and it's one of mine...I've been dying to shoot a wedding there forever!) and they explained that that their family made it possible for them to have an intimate wedding in Saxapahaw!

Holly & Merritt's Wedding | A Clemson, SC Wedding Photographer

Holly and Merritt's wedding day was so full of emotion and joy and it was clear how much Holly and Merritt love Christ and love one another. One of my favorite moments in the day was when Holly and Merritt prayed together and exchanged gifts before their ceremony. Merritt gave Holly and journal with a letter and Holly gave Merritt a box with hundreds of notes she had written him throughout their relationship! It was such a sweet and intimate moment that they were able to share just before walking down the aisle. It was an absolutely beautiful day!

Sumter County Museum | Celia & Isaac's Wedding | A Sumter, SC Wedding Photographer

Celia and Isaac's wedding day was a beautiful, rustic, outdoor wedding filled with joy! I absolutely loved their venue at Sumter County Museum! Celia and her family and friends also did a great job decorating and thinking through all of the wedding details...everything was beautiful. Isaac is actually one my dear friends (Abbie) brother and so I've know the Ormond family for a while now. I really enjoyed getting to meet all of the extended family and getting to see sweet Clemson friends and one of my August 2016 couples (yay Jenna and Daniel!). I'm always so thankful for friends who are so supportive of my business and who give me the privilege of capturing their most important memories!

The forecast called for rain on Saturday but it looked likely that it would just pass through or rain in the morning before the ceremony was to begin. Thankfully, we were able to take all of the pictures we needed before the ceremony and there was no sign of rain. Just as the ceremony was beginning, it started to drizzle a little bit. A few minutes into the ceremony, it started POURING! While I've experienced rain on several wedding days, this is actually the first time I experienced pouring rain in the middle of a ceremony! Everyone grabbed their umbrellas and a man came over to Isaac and Celia and held an umbrella over them. Isaac and Celia took it all in stride and remained joyful throughout their ceremony and they didn't let the rain worry them. Thankfully, it stopped raining shortly after the ceremony was over and they were able to dance and do the rest of their reception as planned! I'm always so thankful for couples who remember that what is most important about their day is not whether or not it rains or how perfectly all the details fall into place, but rather, that at the end of the the day they'll be married!

Congratulations Isaac and Celia! I hope you're enjoying your honeymoon and that have fun reliving your day through these pictures!
