As I sat down with Kathyrn a few weeks ago over coffee to discuss her wedding photography, I immediately felt like I had a connection with her and that we had quite a lot in common! I had so much fun getting to know her and her fiance David a little better while hiking through Eno State Park (and yes we did end up pretty much hiking...I'm glad they're adventurous!). I'm really looking forward to taking Kathyrn's bridal portraits and to their wedding in December!! Here's a few of my favorites from their engagement session:
Downtown Washington DC | Gabrielle & Ryan's Engagement Pictures | A Washington D.C. Wedding Photographer
I was so excited when Gabrielle contacted me about shooting her wedding! She is also a photographer and found me on Facebook through a photographers group! Gabrielle is from my hometown of Annapolis and I could not be more excited to shoot her wedding in November! From the first time we chatted on the phone, I know that I was going to love Gabrielle. She is SO sweet and easy to talk to!
I had so much fun walking around downtown DC with Gabrielle and her fiance Ryan. Gabrielle and Ryan are so sweet together and so easy-going and enjoyable to be around. Originally we had planned to take pictures when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, but the weather decided to be crazy and so unfortunately we missed the blooms by about a week. However, I'm really glad Gabrielle and Ryan still wanted to take their pictures in DC because it's one of my absolute favorite cities of all time! DC really is gorgeous, even without the cherry blossoms! We got some great pictures around the capitol, national mall, and library of congress. Here's a few of my favorites:
Clemson University | Bill & Katie's Engagement Pictures | A Clemson, SC Wedding Photographer
Bill and Katie met at Clemson several years ago but never really knew each other well. A few years later, Bill relocated to Atlanta and they re-connected and hit it off and started dating shortly after! They wanted to take their pictures on Clemson's campus since that's where they originally met. I actually knew Katie in college and even lived in a campus apartment across from her! We were both the same year in school and we met through Cru.
I really enjoyed walking around Clemson's beautiful campus with Bill and Katie and I can't wait to shoot their Greenville, SC wedding in August!!
Swan Lake | Jenna & Daniel's Engagement Pictures | A Sumter, SC Photographer
I was so excited to take Jenna and Daniel's engagement pictures! Thankfully, it worked out to take them in Sumter (Daniel's home town) before a wedding that I shot. Jenna and Daniel were willing to get up bright and early to do a morning session with me and, even at that hour, they were joyful and so much fun to be around! We took their pictures at Swan Lake which is a beautiful park with lots of Spanish moss and pretty flowers. Also, it has the largest variety of swans in the United States!
I went to church at Crosspoint with Jenna and Daniel (my old church in Clemson, SC) and I have known them for several years. They were both on the college leadership team that I helped to lead and I was always really impressed with both of them and how they are wise beyond their years! Both Jenna and Daniel are incredibly kind, joyful, godly, and mature people and I could not be happier for the two of them! They are an amazing couple and I know the Lord will bless their marriage! I cannot WAIT to shoot their wedding in August!
Best of 2015 Engagement Pictures
It was tough to narrow down pictures for this post! Today I want to share with you a few of my favorite engagement pictures from 2015. Engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of my job and I think they're very important! Doing an engagement session with your photographer gives you the opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera and comfortable with your photographer. It also gives you beautiful pictures together in something other than your wedding dress! I cherish the engagement pictures that my husband and I took together and we have them displayed all over our house! Here's a few of my favorites from 2015:
