Fashion Friday: Gray Surplice Tank & Linen Skirt

I have pretty much been living in this skirt this summer. It's really comfortable, it can be dressed up or dressed down, and it goes with everything! My color is on clearance (but is almost sold out) but there's several other colors still available! I'm also obsessed with the Baublebar necklace I recently purchased. I've gotten really into minimalist jewelry lately and I love how simple this necklace is and the fact that it goes with everything! I've never bought anything from Baublebar before but I was very impressed with the quality of their jewelry at affordable prices and plan to order from them again in the future!

Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern | Ashley & Nathan's Vow Reaffirmation | A Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer

Ashley and Nathan have a beautiful story! After they got engaged, Ashley was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. Instead of planning a large wedding, they decided to get married quickly and have a small ceremony. Over the next year and a half of their marriage, Ashley went through radiation, chemotherapy, and a liver transplant. Thankfully, Ashley successfully made it through her treatment and transplant! So, Ashley and Nathan decided to plan a larger vow reaffirmation and they re-committed themselves to one another on 6/4/16.

During their ceremony, the pastor said that their marriage is a picture of Christ's steadfast love towards us. I thought that was a beautiful way to explain how they have steadfastly loved one another through the trials they've faced just as Christ loves his children steadfastly and continually. I was so blessed to hear a small part of their story and to see them have the opportunity to reaffirm their vows and celebrate their marriage after a period of intense hardship. I was honor to photograph!

Fashion Friday: Black Jumpsuit

My new favorite purchase is the black jumpsuit pictured below. It's my first ever jumpsuit purchase and I LOVE it. For a long time I debated whether or not I could pull off a jumpsuit and I finally decided to go for it and I could not be happier! This jumpsuit feels like you're wearing pajamas but it looks very classy! It can be dressed up or dressed down and it is made out of a very cool, thin material which makes it great for warmer weather! Jumpsuits are a huge trend right now and I think they're quickly becoming the new LBD!

This jumpsuit is almost sold out but there's a few sizes left and it's an additional 40% off clearance!! I've also linked several other black jumpsuit options below.

Haw River Ballroom | Ilene & Ryan's Wedding | A Saxapahaw, NC Wedding Photographer

Ilene and Ryan had the sweetest intimate wedding at the Haw River ballroom! They were unusual clients for me because I actually only covered one hour of their wedding (family pictures and romantic portraits). Typically, I don't usually offer that kind of coverage (my packages start at 7 hours) but for their situation, one hour ended up working out for various reasons.

Even though I had such a short time to spend with Ilene and Ryan, I had SO much fun! It was very clear that Ilene and Ryan really loved one another and that they were so happy and excited to get married. They also knew how to have fun (see the evidence in some of their photos below!).

Ryan and Ilene told me how blessed they felt to be able to get married at the Haw River ballroom. It's one of their favorite places (and it's one of mine...I've been dying to shoot a wedding there forever!) and they explained that that their family made it possible for them to have an intimate wedding in Saxapahaw!

Fashion Friday: Striped Swing Dress

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite and most comfortable dresses with you. The best part is that it's on sale for $15!! I absolutely love how loose fitting this swing dress is and I love the high neckline. It's also very forgiving if you're worried about covering anything in your mid-section! :) This dress comes in several different colors and patterns. I styled my dress with a floral clutch (because I love mixing patterns and LOVE floral and stripes together) and brown leather accents in my bracelet and shoes (because I also love brown and black together!). I also just got the tassel bracelet I'm wearing in this pictures and highly recommend it! It's super fun and summer, tassels are currently a huge trend, and it's only $7!!
